Job Summary
The Ministry of Defence employs over 50,000 Civil Servants. Within that, the Army Top Level Budget (TLB) employs around 12,000 MOD Civil Servants located at over 300 locations. Job Description
Army Digital Services (ADS) is part of the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) department which is part of the Directorate of Information with. ADS is the Army’s supplier of choice for the design, development and support of applications and services to provide digital enablement of the Army’s processes. It therefore supports the Army’s ambitious and innovative modernisation and transformation agenda.
ADS enables this digital transformation by developing bespoke software, hosting applications, including the Army Data Warehouse and conducting data analytics.
The role of a Deployable Application Delivery Manager is to ensure the people working on a project are working together in a way that's going to yield a high-quality product and ensure everyone understands all aspects of the project and has access to the necessary resources. The Deployable Application Delivery Manager focuses on obtaining greater quality of the products delivered and customer satisfaction, through the delivery of value from early stages of the project. Managing and organizing projects and working with a team to ensure that projects are completed on time and within budget.
You will be specifically responsible for leading the delivering of new deployable digital solutions into service in addition to supporting incident management and development of existing solutions for Sustain and Maintain business as usual ; the Deployable Application Delivery Manager will lead poly-skilled and multi-disciplinary team(s) to release digital solutions into live environments to serve users across the Army and Defence.
You will leads self-organizing Scrum teams to implement project management/best practices, keep all parties on track and informed, introduce agile engineering practices, host regular stand-up meetings, assist the product owner with the product backlog prioritization and remove roadblocks.
You are responsible for the staffing of business cases and compiling project documentation.
You will undertake scoping of new requirements and make recommendations on how best to deliver them. Ensure that a set of requirements is in place to enable initial scoping to be undertaken and ensure that these requirements are refined to enable development and subsequent testing activities.
You will provide subject matter expertise on the use of technology to meet business needs - Subject matter expert/advisor for the acquisition of information communication services.
Specific Tasks and Outputs
* Lead on delivery of deployable digital change through to live environments to support incident resolution and non-standard requests for change
* Lead delivery team(s) by tasking individuals on a weekly basis with work involving incident resolution and security upgrades
* Support Service Management with non-standard requests for change from Product Owners, ensuring scoping activity is undertaken for time and costing
* Lead on scoping and delivery of new deployable digital solutions subject to funding and direction from business owners
* Reporting progress on weekly meetings to wider teams, including cross-team dependencies and requirements

We are looking for enthusiastic individuals who can handle the pressure of coordinating a wide range of activities and should be comfortable working with Tri-service stakeholders, willing to challenge established norms and process and be prepared to adapt to changing priorities.
