Operations and Maintenance Engineer
Based in Slough, Buckinghamshire, United Kingdom (Remote). Telent is a leading technology company specializing in mission-critical communications and digital infrastructure support. We are recruiting an Operations & Maintenance Engineer to work on Highways England Contracts, carrying out maintenance and commissioning activities within designated areas, including the M25, M4, M11, M1, A14, M40, and A1(M).
This role involves working with a supportive team and using your initiative to solve problems in the field. Our field teams are crucial in maintaining, installing, cabling, and civil works to ensure the nation's critical infrastructure remains connected and protected 24/7.
Responsibilities:
* Attending to cable breaks and repairs on copper and fiber optic cables to ensure network functionality.
* Completing all commissioning of equipment to standards, on time and within budget.
* Responding to equipment issues within Transmission Buildings and Roadside Cabinets, day or night.
* Performing general maintenance and testing on fiber and copper equipment.
* Completing all required documentation promptly.
Qualifications:
Previous experience in a similar role, with fault finding and testing in fiber or copper environments preferred.
Key Requirements:
* Experience with motorway communications or related systems.
* Knowledge of telecommunication networks, copper jointing, fiber splicing, and testing.
