An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, dynamic, and innovative Band 6 Nurse to join our Infection Prevention and Control team, providing services across Acute Care, Women’s and Children’s Services, and the Health and Social Care Partnership. The team is based at Victoria Hospital but delivers expertise across all NHS Fife sites and care homes. We are looking for a self-motivated, experienced Adult Registered Nurse, with current UK NMC Registration, who possesses good written and verbal communication skills, works well within a team whilst being able to work autonomously. They need to able to influence others, prioritise work and have a flexible approach. A first level degree in is essential and a post registration qualification in Infection Prevention and Control is desirable, or currently working towards/be willing to work towards a post registration qualification in infection prevention and control. Applicants should also have had comprehensive general nursing background, experience at band 6 and evidence of teaching. The successful candidate should be computer literate, familiar with Microsoft Office and its applications, as well as having a willingness to learn new systems when necessary. The role will be varied and includes promoting best practice in Infection Prevention and Control, providing specialist advice and guidance for all staff, patients and residents, delivering IPC education and training, partaking in an audit programme, analysing and interpreting data, and preparing and delivering reports. Ability to travel is essential as the successful candidate will be required to travel between NHS Fife sites and Care Homes. This is a part-time, permanent post, worked Monday to Friday with weekend/Public Holiday/on-call responsibility.
