The Opportunity
We are looking for an inspiring, engaging and talented teacher who has the relevant skills and experience to take on the role of Teacher of Science with a Physics specialism. We are looking for a candidate who has the skills and ability to teach up to GCSE although the ability to teach up to A -level would be advantageous.
The successful candidate will be dedicated to providing exceptional learning experiences for their students within and beyond the classroom, and keen to contribute to wider aspects of School life.
The Science Department:
The Science Department aims to engender a passion for all of the sciences, by delivering a rich and varied curriculum, and co-curriculum. We follow the Pearson Edexcel IGCSE at KS4, whilst for A Levels, students study the Edexcel specifications for Chemistry and Physics, and the OCR (A) one for Biology. The BTEC Extended Certificate in Agriculture is also offered at KS5. Beyond the classroom we offer a wide range of clubs and activities, including beekeeping and conservation, witchcraft and wizardry, cosmetics, astronomy, electronic and electrical engineering, STEM film club, Formula 24, the physics of music, and more...
The accommodation in Science is comprised of 6 large labs, and one smaller (6th form) one. All 7 labs are equipped with TV screens and whiteboards, and are serviced by 2 well-resourced prep rooms and excellent technicians. We currently teach Science to Years 7, 8 and 9, whilst in Years 10 and above, students have separate lessons in Biology, Chemistry and Physics, taught by specialist teachers.
