We are currently seeking an experienced Freelance Quantity Surveyor to support the delivery of major infrastructure and environmental projects across a long-term public sector framework.
This opportunity would suit a commercially driven QS with strong civil engineering experience and a proven background working within NEC contracts.
Key Responsibilities
* Managing subcontractor procurement, valuations, and payments
* Preparing applications for payment and commercial reporting
* Cost forecasting and budget control
* Managing compensation events and change control processes
* Identifying commercial risks and opportunities
* Supporting project delivery teams with commercial advice
* Preparing and agreeing final accounts
* Maintaining accurate records and contractual documentation
Requirements
* Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor within civil engineering or infrastructure projects
* Strong NEC3 / NEC4 contract knowledge
* Experience working on framework or public sector projects preferred
* Ability to manage multiple workstreams independently
* Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
* Relevant Quantity Surveying qualification or equivalent experience
Desirable Experience
* Water, environmental, highways, or heavy civils sector experience
* Experience working alongside tier-one contractors or major frameworks
* Chartered or working toward professional accreditation
