You will be joining an established and well-respected Tier 1 contractor based in the Birmingham area operating within the water industry. This multi-accredited contractor delivers major clean and waste water capital programmes directly for multiple water providers, including Severn Trent Water, and offers a strong pipeline of work as well as excellent opportunities for career progression and professional development. As part of their continued growth, they are actively seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join their team.
This is a full-time permanent position based out of their Birmingham office with hybrid working.
Your new role
As Quantity Surveyor, you’ll play a pivotal role in managing themercial and contractual aspects of projects valued between £500k and £5m. Reporting to the Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will:
1. Oversee contract administration and risk management
2. Prepare budgets, forecasts and monthly cost value reconciliations (CVRs)
3. Manage variations, valuations and final accounts
4. Support project managers with cost tracking and tendering
5. Attend client meetings to negotiate terms and resolve disputes.
What you'll need to succeed
In order to be successful, you must have:
6. Degree/HNC/HND in Quantity Surveying (or similar) or experience equivalent
7. Experience as an Assistant Quantity Surveyor or Quantity Surveyor within heavy civils (water, highways, rail, renewables or utilities industries)
8. Sound working knowledge of NEC form of contract
9. Excellentmunication, interpersonal and organisational skills
10. Full UK driving licence.
