SEN Support Officer
About the Role
* Provide business support to help the Local Authority meet statutory SEND responsibilities.
* Support the Senior SEN Support Officer with processing EHC needs assessment requests.
* Input and maintain accurate data on internal systems, including Capita and Excel.
* Track statutory deadlines and circulate information to key stakeholders.
* Manage the SEN team’s general inbox and handle enquiries professionally.
* Deliver high-quality administrative support with strong ICT skills.
* Work collaboratively within the wider business support team.
* Contribute to improving consistency and processes across the service.
* Occasional work outside normal hours may be required to support service delivery.
Requirements
* GCSE English and Maths (Grade C/4+) or equivalent experience.
* Experience in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.
* Strong attention to detail and ability to work to statutory deadlines.
* Confident communicating with professionals across Education, Health, Social Care and voluntary sectors.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Strong verbal and written communication skills.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office and general ICT systems.
* Understanding of SEND and the needs of children and families.
* Awareness of safeguarding responsibilities.

* Enhanced DBS (Adults and Children’s Barred List) required.
