1:1 SEN Teaching Assistants - Scunthorpe Supporting Children & Young People with Autism, Learning Disabilities and Complex Needs (Ages 5-19) Do you have the passion and patience to make a real difference in a young person's life? We are looking for caring and dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistants to join a specialist academy in the Scunthorpe area from October 2025. Every day, you will play a vital role in supporting children and young people to achieve their potential - both in and beyond the classroom. About the Academy The academy provides specialist education for pupils aged 5-19 with a wide range of needs, including: Autism Dyslexia Asperger's Syndrome Moderate, severe, and complex learning difficulties The school prides itself on creating a safe, inclusive, and aspirational environment where every student's journey is celebrated. Your Role As a 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant, you'll be central to each learner's progress. You will: Provide tailored, individualised support to pupils with complex needs. Assist with engaging, creative, and accessible lessons. Promote key life skills and independence. Work closely with teachers, therapists, and families to build a strong support network. Contribute to a respectful, positive, and empowering school culture. What We're Looking For We welcome applicants from all backgrounds - experience in education is helpful but not essential. What matters most is your attitude, commitment, and desire to support young people. Previous experience supporting children or young people is desirable. A calm, patient, and proactive approach is essential. A genuine interest in SEN and a willingness to learn. A DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
