Facilities:
They are a 3-branch practice, located in the middle of the Sperrin Mountains, with easy access to the North Coast and Glens, Belfast, and Derry city. The practice is equipped with facilities for farm and small animal practice, including ultrasound, laparoscope, IDEXX lab station, microscope, x-ray, endoscope, ECG, kennelling/stabling, small ruminant operating table, and horse stock.
Team:
The team comprises 8 Veterinary Surgeons, including 3 with 20 years of experience in farm, small animal, and equine practice, and 1 with over 10 years farm vet experience. Four vets have been with the practice for 10 years. The team also includes a new 2022 graduate in the Graduate Academy and a dedicated Veterinary Nursing team of 3 Registered and 2 Student Veterinary Nurses.
Role:
This position is suitable for a Veterinary Surgeon interested in dairy-beef-sheep practice, with optional small animal and equine work.
Applicant Requirements:
The ideal candidate will be a Farm Veterinary Surgeon with experience in calving, C-sections, uterine twists, etc., and comfortable with some horse work. Reproductive knowledge is beneficial. Keen and confident newly graduated Veterinary Surgeons will also be considered.
Hours:
The full-time rota is 45 hours per week, working 1 weekend in 4 with a long weekend off in lieu. There is an on-call requirement: 1 night per week in winter, and every fortnight in summer. The role can be full-time or part-time.
Salary:
Up to £63,000 depending on experience, plus a relocation allowance of up to £5000.
