Join a Supportive Specialist Environment

A full-time Support Worker opportunity has become available within a specialist setting in Bridgwater supporting young people with additional educational and emotional needs.

This role is available for an immediate start and would suit somebody who is enthusiastic about helping young people develop confidence, independence and positive daily routines.

The setting provides structured support for learners with autism, SEMH needs, communication difficulties and associated behavioural challenges.

Staff work closely together to maintain a safe and engaging atmosphere that enables pupils to feel supported throughout their educational journey.





About the Role

The successful candidate will play an important role in supporting students throughout both educational and pastoral activities. This may involve classroom support, emotional guidance, behaviour management and assisting pupils during social and enrichment activities.

• Supporting students with daily routines and transitions

• Encouraging participation within learning and practical sessions

• Promoting emotional regulation and positive interactions

• Providing mentoring and pastoral guidance

• Supporting independence and life skills development

• Working collaboratively with teachers and therapy teams

• Maintaining accurate safeguarding records and reports

• Assisting with community-based activities and educational visits

This role requires a calm, resilient and adaptable individual who can form positive relationships while maintaining professional boundaries.





What We Are Looking For

Experience within education, care, youth work or residential support is highly beneficial. However, candidates with transferable skills and a genuine passion for supporting vulnerable young people are strongly encouraged to apply.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
