Job Description: Chef de Partie Location: Dumfries and Galloway, Scotland Job Type: Full-time Salary: £30,000 - £32,000 per annum Job Responsibilities: Prepare and cook a variety of dishes, ensuring high standards of food quality and presentation. Manage a section of the kitchen and oversee the activities of the kitchen staff working in that section. Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain the highest standard of hygiene in the kitchen. Assist in menu planning, maintaining profitability, and ensure food costs are managed effectively. Train and mentor junior kitchen staff to enhance their culinary skills and knowledge. Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure efficient kitchen operation and timely food service. Monitor inventory levels, place orders for food supplies, and ensure proper stock rotation. Maintain equipment and kitchen tools, reporting any repairs or replacements needed to the head chef. Essential Qualifications: Proficiency in culinary arts with a strong understanding of various cooking techniques. Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations. Strong cooking skills with hands-on experience in a commercial kitchen environment. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment. Desired Experience: Previous experience as a Chef de Partie or similar role in a reputable restaurant or hotel. Experience in training or leading kitchen staff is preferred.
