We are looking for an experienced Contracts Manager to lead a portfolio of civil/utilities engineering projects across Manchester and Yorkshire.
The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing multiple civil engineering projects simultaneously, ensuring high-quality delivery within budget and time constraints. They will take the lead on client relationships, manage and influence site teams, oversee subcontractor performance, and develop a robust pipeline of works to achieve business targets and required margins. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in civil engineering, extensive experience managing Site Manager’s and have a proven track record of delivering complex projects.
Duties
• Build and maintain strong client relationships, acting as a key partner throughout project lifecycles.
• Manage and coordinate multiple civil engineering projects simultaneously.
• Ensure project delivery aligns with budget, quality, and programme requirements.
• Oversee subcontractor performance, ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards.
• Lead and mentor site teams, fostering a high-performance culture.
• Identify and develop opportunities to grow the project pipeline and business.
Person Specification
• Strong client engagement and stakeholder management skills.
• Extensive experience managing multiple civil engineering projects.
• HNC in Civil Engineering or equivalent qualification.
• Proven ability to manage costs, budgets, and subcontractor performance.
• SMSTS / CSCS Black Card / First Aid certification.
• Full UK Driver’s License (no more than 6 points).
