University Hospitals Dorset are looking for a Risk Advisor Health and Safety (Transformation) based at Bournemouth Hospital. Duties of the role will include: You will provide expert advice and guidance to all staff and support key trust committees and groups including the Board of Directors in relation to health & safety for staff, patients and visitors across the Trust. Act as a ‘competent person’ for health and safety, liasing with the enforcement authority for health and safety- the Health & Safety Executive (HSE), Executive Directors and Directors to ensure the Trust remains compliant with health and safety legislation. Engage and collaborate with Estates Capital and Transformation teams to ensure areas designed to be transformed or repurposed are fit for the intended use and meet the safety standards and requirements Review written and drawn designs and specifications to give assurance these meet agreed standards Assist Project Managers to gain assurance that construction phase plans are up to date and robust. Base Location: Bournemouth Hospital Interview Date: TBC Main duties of the job Undertake observation visits/walkarounds to ensure compliance across sites where building works are being undertaken. Support actions and activities of the Trust’s Health and Safety Group. Promote a learning culture within the Trust and contractors. Work with staff to maintain a culture where staff are encouraged to report health & safety incidents to ensure continuous improvement. Support compliance with the Control of Contractors policy and SOPs To act as a resource of evidence-based knowledge to enable appropriate and timely incident investigation (all levels), identification, assessment, treatment and management for health and safe Manage non clinical incident reporting on Datix, including the follow up and reporting of significant actions and ensuring that staff involved in incidents are appropriately supported Support the review, follow up and management of staff incidents.
