We are seeking a Catering Assistant/Kitchen Porter to join our team at Basingstoke Hospital. The role involves supporting the efficient operation of catering services for patients, staff, and visitors, including maintaining cleanliness, assisting with meal preparation, service, and delivery.
Main responsibilities include:
1. Supporting the wider catering team and covering various catering roles as needed.
2. Serving food in the restaurant, sandwich bar, and patient meal services, including setting up and clearing service stations.
3. Preparing sandwiches, salads, fruits, and beverages for restaurant and event services.
4. Serving and replenishing food, handling cash, operating tills, and cashing up as required.
5. Cleaning and deep cleaning of kitchens, servery, restaurant, and dishwashing areas, including patient crockery and cutlery.
6. Providing menu information to healthcare staff, including allergen and nutritional details, and escalating issues as needed.
7. Maintaining food hygiene standards and communicating breaches appropriately.
8. Recording provisions and meals, managing stock according to SOPs.
9. Delivering patient meal trolleys across the hospital.
