NHS Lanarkshire is comprised of Acute Services (which currently provide hospital based services over 3 main sites), Corporate & Property & Support Services, North and South Lanarkshire Health and Social Care Partnerships which provide integrated primary healthcare and social care services to local communities and surrounding areas.

The Role

1. Manage own specialist caseload, using evidence-based practice and person-centred principles to assess, plan, implement and evaluate interventions in both hospital and community settings.
2. Provide day to day supervision for occupational therapy staff, support staff and students
3. Provide specialist clinical intervention and consultation to occupational therapy staff and other disciplines

Duties may vary depending on the care group / clinical specialty / assigned area of work

Please note this is a fixed term post for 12 months. Where a post only has temporary funding and an existing member of NHS Lanarkshire staff wishes to apply, this will be treated as a secondment. The employee MUST already have written agreement from their line manager to be released on a secondment before applying for the post.

In this key role, you will:

Within NHS Lanarkshire, the department delivers Occupational Therapy services across the whole population (approx. 644,00) including acute, community and primary care services. It is structured into care groups as outlined within the section 4 (Organisational Chart). It is a hosted service and is operationally accountable to the Head of Health and Social Care and professionally accountable to the AHP director.

What You'll Bring:

4. Registered Occupational Therapist with valid HCPC Registration
5. Educated to and operating at Degree Level
6. Post graduate expertise within speciality / area of practice that demonstrates the required breadth of knowledge required to lead safety, effectively and efficiently.
7. Comprehensive knowledge of clinical guidelines and standards within the speciality / area of practice.
8. A driving licence is required; this must be a full UK/EU/EEA licence.
