Role
The role of Mechanical Design Engineer will join a team with a mixture of tenured designers and upcoming apprentices. Overseeing the full design lifecycle, this role will become a specialist and lead within this team for special purpose machinery.
The Mechanical Design Engineer will:
* Work on complex machinery projects with 1 year lead time
* Support with bids and specifications from a technical perspective
* Full scope design of machines, tooling, and systems integration
* Oversee designs through manufacturing, assembly, commissioning, and service
* Involvement in design reviews, DFMEAs, PFMEAs, and risk assessments
Candidate
To be successful in your application for this Mechanical Design Engineer role you will need:
* Demonstratable and tenured experience designing special purpose machinery
* Familiarity with CNC machining
* Experience using any 3D CAD platform
* An interest in mentoring and developing apprentices
* Passion for engineering and desire to upskill/multi-skill
