Secondary Cover Supervisor - Ulverston & South Lakes

We are seeking reliable and motivated Cover Supervisors to manage classrooms and support student learning in Ulverston and the surrounding area. Pay & Flexibility
Daily Rate: £110 - £160 per day (Competitive rates based on experience).
Direct PAYE: No umbrella companies or hidden fees. We ensure you receive your full earnings with transparent tax and NI contributions.
Work Your Way: We offer both Full-Time (5 days/week) and Part-Time (1-4 days/week) options to suit your personal schedule.
The Role at a Glance
As a Cover Supervisor, you will step into the classroom to lead sessions in the absence of the regular teacher. Your focus is on maintaining a productive environment so that students stay on task.
Classroom Leadership: Oversee students across various subjects, ensuring the school's behavior policy is followed and a respectful atmosphere is maintained.
Delivering Lessons: Explain and facilitate the work pre-set by the department-there is no planning or marking required.
Student Support: Act as a point of contact for students, providing guidance on their tasks and encouraging academic engagement.
Collaborative Feedback: Provide brief, helpful handover notes for the returning teacher regarding student progress and conduct.
What You Need to Succeed
Experience: Previous experience leading groups of children or young adults (e.g., sports coaching, tutoring, youth work, or military/emergency services).
Communication: The ability to speak clearly and confidently to a room of 11-16-year-olds.
Qualifications: A degree is an advantage, but we welcome applicants with a strong standard of literacy, numeracy, and life experience.
Resilience: A "can-do" attitude and the ability to adapt to different classroom environments.
Compliance: An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or a willingness to process a new one).
