Please note this role is a RELIEF position as and when required not a Permanent position Working hours: As and when Required Interview Date: To be confirmed Job Summary: The Salvation Army’s Harvestfield Furniture Project in Berwick upon Tweed is a large charity furniture recycling project that sells almost everything from clothes and bric-a-brac to large furniture and white goods, as well as looking at effective ways of providing support and assistance to those in need, while serving customers and supporting the day-to-day operations in the shop. Key Responsibilities: In this role you will be required to contribute to the efforts of the existing team in supporting a dynamic furniture project, towards operational and missional objectives. Your primary role will be supporting the van driver in delivering and collecting furniture as part of the delivery team. You may also be required to carry out warehouse duties as directed by team leader. The successful candidate should have excellent written and oral communication skills, and professional telephone manner. Successful candidate will: Provide a friendly and effective collection and delivery service of sales goods to and from customers with a focus on delivering excellent customer service. Assist with the safe movement of items for sale within the retail and warehouse areas as required to ensure that space is being used effectively. Support the van driver in the delivery and collection of goods as directed by the Team Leader, ensuring that any known issues are reported in compliance with The SA policies and procedures. Check the quality and condition of donations offered ensuring they meet company standards and legal requirements. Record delivery and collections details ensuring that all relevant goods are accounted for as per the delivery/collection sheets Comply with all relevant health and safety requirements to maintain a safe working environment for customers, colleagues and volunteers: Please note this role is a RELIEF role not a Permanent position.
