Role Summary
As a Risk Graduate, you will launch your career in Risk Management, receiving on‑the‑job training and support from experienced experts. Based in London, you will work directly with the global Risk Management team to identify, assess, and mitigate business risks and contribute to first‑line control environments and projects.
Department Overview
Risk management at Marex ensures the stability, integrity and strategic success of the organisation by managing operational, market, clearing, governance, credit, counterparty and change risk. The function safeguards financial health, regulatory compliance and market reputation.
Responsibilities
Operational Risk
* Assist in identifying, assessing, and monitoring operational risks.
* Support the development and implementation of risk mitigation strategies and controls.
* Participate in risk assessments and incident investigations, documenting findings and recommendations.
* Help maintain the risk register and track action items to ensure timely resolutions.
Market Risk
* Analyse market risk exposures and conduct stress testing and scenario analysis.
* Assist in developing and enhancing market risk models and methodologies.
* Monitor daily market risk reports and highlight significant changes or anomalies.
* Support the preparation of market risk metrics and reports for senior management.
Clearing Risk
* Support monitoring and management of clearing risk exposures for trading activities.
* Assist in assessing collateral requirements and margining practices.
* Help analyse clearing risk data and prepare reports for internal and external stakeholders.
Risk Governance
* Assist in developing and implementing risk governance policies and frameworks.
* Support preparation of risk governance reports and presentations for committees and boards.
* Participate in risk governance meetings, documentation and tracking follow‑up actions.
Credit and Counterparty Risk
* Conduct credit risk assessments and analyse counterparty creditworthiness.
* Monitor and report on credit exposures, identifying potential credit issues and recommending actions.
Change Risk & Assurance
* Assist in assessing and managing risks associated with mergers, acquisitions and other significant business changes.
* Support development of change risk frameworks and methodologies.
* Participate in change management projects ensuring risks are identified and mitigated.
* Help prepare change risk assessments and reports for senior management during acquisition and integration phases.

Skills and Experience
* Degree in Mathematics, Physics, Statistics, Computer Science or other quantitative subjects with a strong academic record.

* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly advanced Excel functions and macros.
* Programming skills in Python, C++, SQL are desired.
* Basic understanding of financial markets and instruments is advantageous.
* Knowledge of regulated environments and associated risk and compliance requirements.
