Backup Admin & Service Administrator | S2 | CIO, Milton Keynes
This role focuses on providing direct, timely support and execution of critical backup processes within the infrastructure team to ensure systems across multiple technologies are safe, secure, and operational. It requires initiative and a focus on continual service improvement through reporting, planning, audit & analysis, and developing best practices.
Responsibilities:
1. Monitor and report on backup requests, incidents, and problems daily, ensuring actions are completed within SLAs.
2. Work with multiple backup technologies, analyze trends, manage workload, and forecast resource needs.
3. Participate in planning, designing, implementing, and maintaining the company's technology infrastructure.
4. Manage relationships with service providers to meet contractual obligations.
5. Define and operate restore testing schedules, scenarios, and report outcomes.
6. Manage audit requirements, document processes, and track performance metrics.
Qualifications and Skills:
* Proficiency with multi-vendor backup environments, including NetBackup, TSM, and Avamar.
* Strong troubleshooting skills in production environments.
* Experience in configuring, commissioning, tuning, and upgrading backup infrastructure.
* Knowledge of monitoring tools like Dynatrace, networking, firewalls, VMware, and operating systems.
* Ability to develop technical solutions from concept to production and collaborate across teams.
Additional Information:
We support flexible working arrangements, including site-based contracts with a hybrid pattern. The role is based in Milton Keynes, requiring at least days in the office weekly. We welcome applications for part-time or job-share arrangements.
