Salary range: £12.28 - £13 (Depending on experience)
Job Description: Pertemps are recruiting for Saw Operatives. Do you want to work for a company who can offer you job security in a temp to perm position, working a constant Monday to Friday day shift?
Our client can offer a great working environment with ongoing support and training. You will ideally have some manufacturing experience to be considered for this role. The primary role is to work within the Aluminium or UPVC Department, to achieve the daily production targets.
Responsibilities
* Operating the Saw: Setting up and running various types of saws, such as circular saws, band saws, or automated cross-cut saws. This can involve using computer systems to control the machinery.
* Reading Technical Drawings: Interpreting blueprints or work orders to determine the correct specifications for each cut, including dimensions and angles.
* Measuring and Quality Control: Using tools like tape measures, callipers, and rulers to ensure the materials are cut accurately and meet quality standards. They also inspect finished products for any defects.
* Maintenance and Safety: Performing routine maintenance on the saws, such as changing blades and lubricating parts. They are also responsible for following all health and safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment.
* Handling Materials: Loading and unloading raw materials, which may involve using equipment like forklifts or overhead cranes. They also help with the storage and disposal of scrap material.
* Documentation: Keeping accurate records of daily production and completing necessary paperwork.
Qualifications
* Previously used hand tools and manufacturing experience background
* Have a good attitude and be reliable
* Have a good work ethic
* Must be physically fit as heavy lifting is involved
* Must have written and spoken English
