Job Role: Floating Support Worker Salary: £20,188 per year (full-time equivalent £25,235) Hours: 30 hours per week Contract type: Fixed term contract, until 31st March 2026 Location: Somerset East & Somerset, mainly Frome & Shepton Mallet Additional information: Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for business use Willingness to participate in an out-of-hours on-call rota Ability to work within a rostered shift system, covering hours between 08:00 AM and 08:00 PM Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as required The Role: As a Floating Support Worker, you'll provide vital practical and emotional support to vulnerable adults who are homeless, at risk of homelessness, or living in insecure housing. You'll work closely with a small caseload of clients, building strong relationships through face-to-face engagement, breaking down barriers, and helping them access safe, stable accommodation. Evening and occasional weekend work is required, along with participation in an on-call rota - but the impact you'll make is truly life-changing. What You'll Be Doing: Conduct needs and risk assessments Keeping client records accurate, clear, and up to date Maintaining regular contact with a small caseload of clients Advise and assist clients with budgeting Accompany clients to appointments Since job descriptions cannot be exhaustive, the post holder may be required to undertake other duties, which are broadly in line with the above key responsibilities What We're Looking For: Experience working with people who may have complex needs and/or challenging behaviours Valid driver's license and access to own vehicle - business insurance will be required for roles involving travel for work There are many great reasons to join our team!
