Position: SEN Higher Level Teaching Assistant
Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: £22,000 - £25,000 per annum (dependent on skills, experience, and qualifications)
Hours: 40 hours per week – Term Time Only

An SEMH School based in Wolverhampton is seeking a HLTA to join on a permanent basis starting September 2024. The school caters to up to 80 pupils aged 5-19 with ASC/SEMH needs, offering a tailored curriculum to support their success. They are looking for a passionate, dedicated, and fun HLTA to support the school's vision. The school provides a supportive culture, positive ethos, strong teamwork, and opportunities for career development within the Trust. Employment could commence before August 2024.
The Role:
* Support the growth of the school and the Teaching Assistant team, mentoring new staff.
* Possess a firm knowledge of ASC practice and support its implementation across the school.
* Assist the Class Teacher and SENCO with classroom activities, teaching whole classes, groups, and individuals.
* Lead in the absence of a Class Teacher, assessing and reporting on student progress.
* Implement curriculum plans, preparing and delivering lessons.
* Support care needs and positive behaviour management tailored to individual children.
* Establish supportive relationships with pupils, promoting independence and personal development.
* Maintain high behavioural expectations.
* Be flexible and willing to assist in various SEN environments.
Responsibilities:
* Possess or be willing to complete a Higher Level Teaching Assistant Diploma or equivalent Level 4 qualification.
* Hold a full UK driving licence and access to a car (desirable).
* Have GCSEs at grade C/4 or above in English and Maths.
* Have relevant experience with SEN or SEMH/ASD pupils.
* Understand Safeguarding and Child Protection procedures.
* Experience managing behavioural challenges.
* Be adaptable, child-focused, and positive.
