As the Sport and Physical Activity Delivery Manager, you’ll be instrumental in managing the operations of the Sport and Physical Activity Team to help Barnsley move more, live well and feel better.
Your role in our journey
As a Sport and Physical Activity Delivery Manager, you will provide operational leadership to the Sport and Physical Activity Team ensuring we help everyone in Barnsley experience the benefits of being more active. Your role includes:
* Service plan setting, delivery and performance.
* Managing the Sport and Physical Activity Team.
* Overseeing key work areas including community development, active schools, walk‑cycle‑wheel behaviour change, Barnsley Bike Works service, events, marketing and communications.
* Performance management.
* Financial management.
* Procurement and contract management.
* Leading your own portfolio of projects and developments.
* Relationship management.
What you’ll need
To join us, you’ll need a mix of relevant qualifications with at least one at level 6 or above, and extensive experience in the sport and physical activity sector. A proven track record in managing and securing funding, project management, and developing approaches to leading services and achieving outcomes. Evidence‑based project and performance management skills. Strong public engagement and partnership working, and excellent communication talent.
