Band 6 Senior Occupational Therapist – Dawn House

We are looking for a highly motivated, compassionate Registered Occupational Therapist to lead and be part of the delivery of this discharge pathway pilot. You will work with a team of professionals to develop a community forensic step‑down accommodation for women being discharged from secure care. The pilot extends the inpatient treatment model (the SCALE model within the Women’s Secure Blended Service) into a community residential setting to promote recovery beyond discharge and reduce the need for future admissions, with funding available for two years.
Main duties
* Lead and support the design and delivery of therapeutic programmes for women with complex mental health and neurodevelopmental needs.
* Support the leadership of the OT and STR team, contributing to service development and high‑quality care in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
* Maintain evidence‑based practice, deliver outcome‑measured interventions, and help achieve professional, local and service‑wide standards.
* Participate in annual development reviews and reflective practice opportunities.
Training & Qualifications
* Diploma or BSc(Hons) in Occupational Therapy.
* Registration with HCPC.
* Interest in working with women with complex needs and mental health.
* Postgraduate training in leadership or management.
Experience
* Managing caseloads of women with complex mental health problems.
* Leadership of a clinical project and/or management of junior staff.

This post requires a Disclosure and Barring Service check under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1975.
Salary
£39,959 – £48,117 a year, pro rata.
