About Us:

Breedon is a leading vertically integrated construction materials business in the UK and Ireland. Having commenced its expansion into the USA in March 2024, Breedon continues to grow and sees considerable opportunities ahead, both organic and through acquisition. We are seeking a talented Legal Counsel to join our dynamic legal team. This is a unique opportunity to work closely with the Head of Legal on corporate and commercial projects that will shape the future of our business.

Role Overview

The Legal Counsel will provide expert legal support across a wide range of corporate and commercial matters. Key Responsibilities

* Commercial Contracts: Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements, ensuring they align with the company’s values and risk appetite.
* Mergers & Acquisitions: Support the legal aspects of M&A transactions, from due diligence to contract negotiation and post-merger integration, ensuring seamless execution.
* Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with various departments, including finance, operations, procurement, sustainability, and HR, to provide legal support aligned with overall business objectives.

Qualifications & Expertise

* Qualified lawyer with expertise in corporate and commercial law.
* Proven experience in handling corporate transactions, including M&A.
* Minimum of 3-7 years post-qualification experience in an in-house legal department or relevant practice group (corporate or commercial).
* Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
* Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a proactive mindset.

What’s in it for you?

* Competitive Salary and excellent pension scheme.
* 25 days leave, plus bank holidays and the opportunity to buy more.
* Flexible Working: Based in Breedon with travel as required, with a hybrid approach to home-working. We support a culture of flexible and agile working to help you find the right balance.
* Professional development – comprehensive training and development opportunities to help you achieve your full potential.
* Wellbeing support – services and facilities to support your mental and physical health, including access to an Employee Assistance Programme.
