About our Teams
You will be joining a supportive, skilled and creative team that values work ethic, honesty, and reliability. If you're a pragmatic, driven and creative Occupational Therapist looking to make a difference, this is the place for you. We support residents over 65 and those younger with disabilities, working closely with carers, families, and partner organisations to enable residents to live their best possible life. We are also committed to ensuring carers and family members feel supported, given the vital role they perform in the life of those who matter most to them. About the Role

No two days are the same and this diverse role requires professional experience of assessing for major adaptations, specialised equipment and completing moving and handling risk assessments. Our aim is to support our residents to live meaningful lives within the community, the very essence of occupational therapy.

As a Senior Occupational Therapist you will conduct holistic assessments of social care needs and planning support across a dedicated caseload. Working closely with families, carers and care workers, you'll play a vital role in supporting people from diverse backgrounds, with a wide range of needs.

Using a strength-based approach, you will work alongside a variety of clients who have differing and/or complex needs. Clients may be elderly and frail, experience a learning disability, physical or sensory impairment, or have mental ill health. This diverse role will facilitate your development and equip you with a large range of skills to enable you to undertake frontline holistic occupational therapy practice within a social care setting. You will have the opportunity to put into practice assessments such as the moving and handling risk assessments and intervention, with the aim of supporting and empowering our clients to live meaningful lives within the community.

Joining us you will work closely with your team members, as well as with other organisations and agencies, to provide an integrated service to support vulnerable adults and their carers in a community-based setting. We encourage hybrid working (and to support this you'll be given your own laptop and mobile phone) and you'll be given control of your own diary and time to oversee a diverse range of casework. You'll be seeing clients functioning in their own homes or in residential settings, having opportunities to complete short term equipment interventions or working longer term with clients with mental health, learning disabilities and physical disabilities. We also provide full moving and handling training, as well as access to our equipment store.

Shortlisting CriteriaTo be considered for shortlisting for this position, your application will clearly evidence the following:
20. Professional qualification in Occupational Therapy and current registration with Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)
21. Experience of working within a social care, health or community focused multi-disciplinary setting
22. Ability to complete person centred and proportionate OT assessments
23. Familiarity with moving and handling equipment such as hoists and stand aids

25. Knowledge of current legislation, including the Care Act and the Mental Capacity Act and its application to practice in a social care setting.
26. Substantial post-qualification professional experience and experience of providing professional supervision (support and training to further these skills will be provided)
Surrey has both urban and rural areas and locality based social care workers will be expected to have a valid driving licence to drive in the UK and access to a vehicle and be willing to travel across a wide geographical area.
