Projects include commercial, residential and mixed-use developments, delivered for private developers and public sector clients across South Wales and the wider UK.
Responsibilities and Duties
This Quantity Surveyor job will suit a confident professional seeking to progress their career within a supportive consultancy environment.
Key responsibilities will include:
1. Delivering cost consultancy services across multiple construction projects
2. Preparing pre-contract cost plans, estimates and pricing schedules
3. Advising on procurement strategy and managing tender processes
4. Compiling contract documentation and administering contracts
5. Undertaking on-site valuations and cost assessments
6. Producing monthly cost reports and financial statements
7. Forecasting and monitoring project cashflows
8. Liaising with clients and other stakeholders
Desired Skills and Experience
Suitable candidates will demonstrate:
9. At least 4 years’ post-university experience in quantity surveying or cost management
10. Strong understanding of construction cost control and project management principles
11. Experience working on pre- and post-contract cost management duties
12. Excellent written and verbal communication skills
13. High attention to detail and strong commercial awareness
14. Ability to work independently while contributing positively to a team environment
Qualifications/Educational Requirements
15. Degree in Quantity Surveying or a related construction discipline
16. Working towards MRICS chartership or recently chartered with RICS
17. Ongoing commitment to professional development is essential
