Overview
Teesside Hospice, Middlesbrough, United Kingdom is recruiting a Registered Nurse to join the 10-bed in-patient unit within the Teesside Hospice multidisciplinary team. The role focuses on delivering high standards of palliative and end-of-life care to patients and support for their families.
Responsibilities
* Provide nursing care under supervision, including supervision of qualified and support staff and student nurses.
* Work within the multidisciplinary team to deliver 24-hour care (day and night shifts may be required).
* Adhere to Teesside Hospice policies, participate in clinical governance, audits, risk management, safeguarding, IPC, and incident reporting.
* Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care; maintain accurate documentation and ensure confidentiality.
* Support patients and families at the end of life and coordinate with community teams and external agencies as appropriate.
* Promote a patient-centered approach and contribute to the development of the nursing team.
Clinical and Professional Requirements
* Be a competent practitioner in line with the NMC code of professional conduct and maintain registration (revalidation).
* Safe administration and storage of medications.
* Demonstrate effective communication and teamwork; participate in mandatory clinical supervision and annual appraisals.
* Be aware of safeguarding procedures, adult and child protection, and infection prevention and control policies.
* Contribute to clinical audits and risk management to improve practice.
* Prescribe medications within your scope if you are a registered nurse prescriber.
Qualifications
* Essential: Registered General Nurse (RGN) with current UK NMC registration.
Desirable
* 6 months post-qualification experience.
* Palliative care course or additional relevant training.
