We are looking for a Managing Quantity Surveyor to join our infrastructure Road team in Bedfordshire.
What you’ll do:
* Lead the Commercial, Delivery and Estimating team to deliver robust, scope‑aligned estimates and manage PDRs and line‑management duties.
* Develop, drive and monitor procurement and subcontract strategies (NEC4 options), ensuring contracts reflect scope, payment terms, liabilities and change control.
* Own end‑to‑end CVR, client payment applications, invoicing and timely final account issuance.
* Manage cost/value forecasting and reconciliation (EVA, monthly cost/forecast reconciliations) through regular site engagement.
* Identify, value and control change, and manage risks & opportunities in line with client requirements.
* Audit and maintain project commercial records using IT systems (Oracle, CEMAR, ProjectWise), and support junior commercial and operational staff.
* Collaborate with delivery and client teams to agree costs and implement efficiency plans across the project lifecycle.
What you’ll bring to the role:
* Established commercial working for a main contractor ideally on highways projects but other large civil engineering / infrastructure experience will be considered.
* Knowledge of contract/commercial law.
* Experience with NEC 4 forms of contract.
* Proficient in subcontract management.
* BSc or MSc in Quantity Surveying or equivalent experience.
* MRICS or CICES desirable.
