Job Description
The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) is establishing the new Building Safety Division (BSD) with the aim of creating high safety standards for high-rise buildings and ensuring residents feel safe in their homes. BSD will collaborate with residents and industry stakeholders to give everyone a voice and will oversee safety and performance improvements in all high-rise buildings, continually raising professional standards.
Your role will involve conducting audits of Local Authorities and Private Sector Building Control Services across England. These audits will be risk-based, focusing on ensuring competence within the designated portfolio. You will monitor and manage ongoing cases, escalate risks and issues to the Audit Manager, and support enforcement processes to ensure consistent application of enforcement guidelines. In certain situations, you may need to undertake enforcement actions to address issues effectively.
