To strengthen their transport operations, they are now seeking a Transport Planner to join their team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated individual to play a key role in coordinating the movement of equipment and machinery, ensuring deliveries are carried out efficiently, safely, and on time. Role Overview The Transport Planner will be responsible for overseeing and scheduling daily transport operations, focusing on the efficient deployment of 5 HGV trucks and associated drivers. This is a hands-on planning role that requires a proactive approach, excellent organizational skills, and a sound understanding of transport regulations. Key Responsibilities Strategically plan and schedule deliveries to meet customer deadlines and operational targets. Optimise transport routes to maximise efficiency and reduce fuel consumption. Monitor and track fleet activity, resolving any issues or delays quickly and effectively. Act as the primary point of contact for customers regarding delivery schedules and updates. Ensure compliance with all relevant transport legislation and safety standards. Maintain detailed records on transport performance, costs, and vehicle usage. Schedule regular maintenance, MOTs, and tax renewals for HGV and service van fleet. Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost-saving initiatives. Candidate Requirements Proven experience in a transport planning, logistics, or fleet management role. Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise effectively under pressure. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for liaising with drivers, clients, and internal teams. Proficiency in transport management systems and Microsoft Office. Thorough understanding of UK transport legislation and compliance standards. Ability to work independently and manage multiple moving parts in a dynamic environment.
