Overview
The Stroke/Neurology team are located in the Betjeman Centre on the ground floor of GWH. The department includes an outpatient clinic, day hospital, therapy centre and consultant office space. It also has a separate rehabilitation service for stroke, provided by SWICC, within the hospital complex.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
* Multidisciplinary team working – regular MDT discussions with colleagues.
* Provide evidence‑based care for patients in a multidisciplinary setting.
* Continue responsibility for patients in your charge, including administrative duties (supported by secretarial staff).
* Develop subspecialty interests aligning with division needs and strategic direction.
* Teach, examine, and accredit trainees and contribute to undergraduate and post‑graduate teaching.
* Cover for colleagues during leave according to Trust policy.
* Participate in clinical audit and continuing medical education.
* Respond to emergencies and unforeseen circumstances.
* Take part in an out‑of‑hours consultant rota as detailed in the job plan.

Essential Qualifications
* Fully registered with the GMC
Essential Experience
* Clinical training/experience equivalent to UK CCT.
* Expertise in all aspects of stroke medicine.
Teaching & Research
* Ability to teach clinical skills to trainees and multidisciplinary teams.
* Demonstrable multidisciplinary team leadership skills.
* Publications in peer‑reviewed journals.
Additional Information
