IMMEDIATE START – HR Administrator / Administrator.

Contract: Temporary (with strong potential to go permanent)
Start Date: ASAP
Salary: £28,489 + excellent benefits
Location: NG2, Nottingham City Centre – Hybrid (3 days office, 2 days from home)
Hours: hours per week, Monday–Friday (8–4 or 9–5)



This role would be a great fit for either a strong administrator with an interest in HR, or someone already in an HR Admin/HR Coordinator position who wants to continue developing in a supportive People Team.



Our client is a large, well-established public sector organisation providing essential services to the local community. Due to a departmental restructure, they are seeking a highly organised HR Administrator / Administrator to provide immediate support to the People Team during a busy period.



About the Role

In this role, you will provide day-to-day administrative support across a range of HR processes, ensuring colleagues receive a friendly, efficient and accurate service. This is a great opportunity for someone with strong administrative experience who is looking to gain or develop HR exposure.



Key Responsibilities

* First-line HR support: Respond to general HR queries or redirect to the appropriate team member.
* HR administration: Support processes such as onboarding, offboarding, contract changes, absence tracking, probation, and updating employee records.
* Systems & data: Update HR systems, maintain shared inboxes, and handle low-level queries professionally.
* Documentation: Issue contracts, request references, update templates, and support improvements to HR processes and documents.
* General administrative support: Answer phone lines, manage queries, and provide consistent support to the People Team during the restructure.
* Training & upskilling: Receive full training on internal HR systems and processes.



About You

* Strong administrative background
* Able to handle sensitive information with professionalism
* Comfortable managing frontline queries, including general HR issues and basic system or payroll access questions
* Basic HR knowledge is beneficial but not essential
* Excellent attention to detail and a proactive approach
