Position Summary
The Quality Engineer will provide support to the Rosyth Umbilical business unit by implementing Oceaneering’s quality management system & related tools/processes to accelerate business results, reduce COPQ and improve overall efficiency and effectiveness. This role requires an independent professional to support complex projects and provide technical quality solutions. Responsibilities include being the quality focal point for projects assigned, driving quality programs, ensuring critical quality requirements are understood, facilitating continuous improvement, and conducting risk assessments. The individual will support the quality department, project managers, planning and development processes, review specifications, and maintain inspection test plans. The role also supports internal/external audits, provides QA/QC for client projects, and develops suitable corrective actions from robust Root Cause Analysis (RCA). Additionally, the role will require the analysis of quality data, to support process monitoring, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and actively contribute to Health and Safety improvements consistently promoting a positive, safety-focused culture.
Duties And Responsibilities
1. Experienced Project Quality professional with adequate understanding of your own job area (typically acquired from a minimum of 5 years of experience in a Project quality role, however, suited demonstrable experience will be considered).
2. Individual contributor that is proficient in applying established standards within a defined work area, and demonstrates the ability to apply established standards outside of a defined work area.
3. Can manage and navigate ambiguous projects with minimal support from others.
4. Provide QA/QC support to all client projects as assigned.
5. Compile and maintain detailed project Quality Assurance and Quality Control Plans.
6. Compile and maintain detailed client specific Product Inspection & Test Plans.
7. Review and maintain, Supplier Quality Control Plan (SQCPs).
8. Develop a comprehensive understanding of our customer quality requirements.
9. Review, approve and provide comment on specifications, drawings, plans and procedures.
10. Serve as Quality representative for client and 3rd party inspection, site audits/meetings/visits and coordinate with Quality Control for witnessing a test.
11. Can provide solutions to a variety of technical problems of moderate scope/complexity.
12. Provide support and leadership to the site, proactive quality programs including DFMEA, PFMEA, COPQ reduction projects, incident investigation and waste reduction projects.
13. Ensure requirements that are critical to quality (CTQ’s) are defined, understood and aligned with current capabilities and are managed to ensure conformance.
14. Develop processes that are based upon items deemed Critical to Quality (CTQ’s), and Critical to Process (CTP’s),
15. Actively facilitate continuous improvement projects with a cross functional team. Support execution and activities close out with the team.
16. Conduct quality-based risk assessments to determine the criticality of activities performed, and the competence of affected employees.
17. Provide support to the planning, proposal, and development process. – (risk, RFQ review, exceptions etc.).
18. Understand when and how to establish requirements of gauge calibration and perform, validate measurement system analysis (MSA)
19. Facilitate/support internal and external audits for site certifications to verify and distribute work to Business Units as necessary.
20. Prepare and troubleshoot corrective actions in relation to system related nonconforming events/near hits, adopting promoting and coaching robust root cause methodologies.
21. Quantify, and analyze COPQ data and metrics reporting to local and global management.
22. Support process monitoring and measurement processes through the development and implementation of statistical process control, where applicable.
23. Ensure the independent asset, product, and component inspection function is in accordance with industry standards, regulatory statutes, and customer requirements.
24. Utilise the Quality Management System to manage the fundamentals of quality assurance, provides meaningful data to business leaders to drive improvement and align with the strategic direction.
25. Support customer satisfaction and loyalty processes.
26. Support the organisation's drive towards excellence in Health and Safety performance. Support includes but is not limited to conducting Stop observations, attending HSE related meetings, supporting HSE improvement projects, and any other related task deemed appropriate by the Manager.
27. Consistently display required levels of engagement and a positive `can-do` attitude while consistently supporting Oceaneering culture of Safety, Quality, ongoing learning and continual improvement.

Qualifications
REQUIRED
29. Bachelor's degree in engineering or technical field, preferably in Quality, Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering (or equivalent experience).
30. Extensive experience in Quality Engineering/Continuous Improvement, ideally within a Projects environment, with demonstrable evidence of systems and process improvement.
31. Must have working knowledge of ISO 9001 QMS requirements.
DESIRED
32. Qualified and competent as an ISO 9001 lead auditor.
33. Lean / 6 Sigma Green Belt certification.
34. Proficient in Microsoft Office and other related systems as required for the role.
