Lead Mechanical Engineer
We are currently seeking a Lead Mechanical Engineer to join our team on a permanent basis in the Fulham area, supporting a high-profile commercial site.
This is an exciting opportunity to work with one of our well-established and highly respected clients, delivering engineering excellence within a premium commercial environment.
The Lead Mechanical Engineer is responsible for overseeing all mechanical engineering operations across site, ensuring the effective delivery of planned and reactive maintenance services.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead Mechanical Engineering team delivering planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance.
* Oversee maintenance and repair of HVAC systems, heating systems, cooling systems and associated mechanical plant.
* Diagnose and resolve complex mechanical faults across critical infrastructure.
* Manage steam systems, Building Management Systems (BMS) and plumbing systems (desirable).
* Ensure full compliance with Health & Safety legislation, statutory regulations and company compliance standards.
* Manage engineering contractors, service providers and maintenance contracts.
* Drive asset reliability, plant performance and continuous improvement initiatives.
* Produce maintenance reports, KPIs and performance metrics for senior management.
* Support lifecycle planning and capital replacement programmes.
Essential Experience
* Proven experience as a Mechanical Engineer / Senior Mechanical Engineer / Lead Engineer.
* Strong background in PPM (planned preventative maintenance) and reactive maintenance.
* Experience working within large-scale facilities, corporate environments, healthcare, manufacturing or industrial sites.
* Hands-on experience with HVAC, heating, cooling, steam systems and BMS.
* Demonstrable team leadership and performance management experience.
* Contractor management and compliance oversight.
Qualifications
* Mechanical apprenticeship trained or equivalent mechanical engineering qualification (NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds or similar)
* IOSH / NEBOSH (desirable).
* Additional HVAC or mechanical certifications advantageous.
