About the Role
Our client seeking a motivated and customer-focused Internal Sales Representative to join their busy Basingstoke branch. The successful candidate will play a key role in driving sales, building strong customer relationships, and supporting the branch’s continued growth. You will be responsible for handling incoming sales enquiries, developing existing accounts, and contributing to the overall success of the team.
Key Responsibilities
* Act as the first point of contact for customers, providing a professional and efficient service via phone, email, and at the trade counter.
* Handle inbound sales enquiries, prepare quotations, and process orders accurately.
* Proactively follow up on quotations to secure business and maximise sales opportunities.
* Build and maintain strong customer relationships, ensuring repeat business and high levels of customer satisfaction.
* Work closely with external sales representatives to support business development and growth in the local area.
* Develop product knowledge across the electrical wholesale range, keeping up to date with new products and promotions.
* Assist in stock control, ensuring products are available to meet customer demand.
* Contribute to branch sales targets and profitability by identifying upselling and cross-selling opportunities.
Skills & Experience Required
* Previous experience in internal sales, trade counter, or customer service within the electrical wholesale industry (preferred).
* Strong product knowledge of electrical supplies and solutions.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport quickly.
* Proactive sales approach with a strong customer focus.
* Good IT skills and experience using ERP/CRM systems.
* Ability to work well in a team environment and under pressure.
* Strong organisational skills with a keen eye for detail.
