The Product Manager will ensure that their product range is in line with the Lindy goals and strategy. To ensure this they will use data analysis, market research, industry insights and customer feedback to understand customers‘ present and future needs. They will optimise the product range through the introduction of new products and the management of product lifecycles.
The Product Manager will work closely with Technical, Purchasing, QC, Sales and Marketing departments on aspects of product management.
* Working closely with the global product management team on all aspects of product management, new product introduction and product life cycle management. Taking the lead in the management and development of defined product groups and providing support to other product managers with their product ranges.
* Responsible for the research, appraisal and evaluation of new products for introduction into product portfolio in line with the company’s product strategy.
* Responsible for the introduction of new products, their suitability and confromity with current regulations, legislation, approvals, their fit with customer and market requirements. Liaising with suppliers and manufacturers at all stages to ensure products meet the correct criteria.
* Ensuring that the companies pricing strategy is followed for all products throughout their lifecycle whilst meeting market needs and ensuring profitability targets are met.
* Through data analysis proactively identify opportunities to improve product performance throughout the product lifecycle, ensuring that all required direct and indirect actions are completed.
* Identify opportunities to improve product profitability by working with the purchasing team to negotiate better pricing, better terms or sourcing alternative products and suppliers.
* Ensuring that all required legal standards and technology licenses are followed and kept up-to-date, such as UKCA, CE, RoHS & REACH.
* Production of documentation for both new and existing products, including product specifications, user manuals, web texts and marketing/design briefs.
* Creating and delivering product and technology training for key customers, global sales and marketing departments.
* Representing Product Management at global IT/AV trade shows.
* Assisting with the proof reading and creation of documents required for product marketing, PR, promotional advertising and website advertising.
* To continually maintain the accuracy of all product master data in the company’s ERP, Webshop and PIM systems. Ensure that ISO9001/ISO14001 processes are followed at all times.
* Undertake additional tasks or duties as required by the Head of Global Product Management or wider management team, ensuring they are completed accurately, efficiently, and within agreed timeframes, in line with your role and capabilities.
* To provide secondary support for the technical department during times of staff shortage, such as sickness, holiday leave or at any other times as required.
