We are looking for an experienced PMO Lead to join our UK delivery organisation. This is a key role responsible for driving PMO excellence across a major client account or operational workstream, ensuring strong governance, transparency, and successful delivery of complex programmes.
The Role
As PMO Lead, you will provide strategic and operational leadership for project, programme, and portfolio management within your workstream. You will partner closely with senior stakeholders, delivery leaders, and client executives to ensure initiatives are prioritised, governed, and delivered effectively—on time, on budget, and in line with DXC and client standards.
This role is ideal for someone who combines strong PMO discipline with a pragmatic, delivery-focused mindset and experience working within complex, matrixed environments.
Key Responsibilities
PMO Leadership & Governance
1. Establish and maintain project management standards, methodologies, templates, and best practices.
2. Ensure PMO processes align with organisational objectives, contractual obligations, and industry standards.
3. Conduct regular project audits and quality assurance reviews to maintain delivery excellence and compliance.
Portfolio & Programme Management
4. Lead PMO activities within your assigned workstream, providing clear visibility of initiatives, dependencies, risks, and resource demand.
5. Collaborate with senior leadership to guide prioritisation, sequencing, and decision-making across the portfolio.
6. Provide assurance and oversight to ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
Reporting & Performance Management
7. Develop and maintain executive-level dashboards, KPIs, and portfolio performance reports.
8. Track progress, financials, risks, and issues, ensuring clear escalation paths are defined and followed.
9. Analyse portfolio data and provide actionable insights to improve outcomes and optimise resource utilisation.
Team Leadership & Development
10. Lead, mentor, and develop a team of project managers, analysts, and coordinators within a matrix delivery structure.
11. Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
12. Identify capability gaps and implement training and development initiatives to strengthen PMO maturity.
Stakeholder Partnership & Communication
13. Act as a trusted advisor to executives and key stakeholders on project and portfolio performance.
14. Facilitate governance forums, steering committees, and senior reviews.
15. Strengthen communication across delivery teams to support alignment, transparency, and effective decision-making.
Continuous Improvement
16. Evaluate and improve PMO processes, tools, and technologies to enhance efficiency, scalability, and control.
17. Champion change management, process optimisation, and continuous improvement initiatives across the account.
Qualifications & Experience
18. Bachelor’s degree in Business, Management, IT, or a related field.
19. Experience in project/programme management, including at least 3 years leading a PMO service or managing large programmes within a BPO or similar contract environment.
20. Strong working knowledge of project delivery methodologies (Waterfall, Agile, and hybrid).
21. Professional certifications such as PMQ, MSP, or PMO-related credentials are desirable.
22. Proven leadership, analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
23. Experience delivering complex, cross-functional change within a matrixed organisation.
Why Join DXC?
24. Work on high-impact programmes with leading UK and global clients.
25. Be part of a collaborative, inclusive, and forward-thinking organisation.
26. Opportunities for career progression, professional development, and certification support.
