We are looking for a detail-oriented professional to join the central finance team based in Ipswich. We seek an enthusiastic individual with a positive working attitude to join a wider team of 5,000 colleagues across the UK.
The Management Information (MI) Manager will take responsibility for the MIS function within the finance team. The role will manage a team of two MIS assistants and collaborate with the business to produce information that supports decision-making to enhance operational efficiency. The role involves working with the operations/management team to gather requirements and produce reports/metrics based on them.
The ideal candidate will have proven experience in managing and developing relationships with internal and external teams, along with a broad financial understanding of how service organizations operate, and the ability to challenge the status quo.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage a team, including task setting, conducting 121s, and managing conflicts
* Develop metrics using platforms such as Power BI
* Ensure the accuracy of reports produced
* Create training materials to enable end users to access metrics/reports
* Collaborate with the operations team to identify process improvements
* Develop and maintain an MIS plan, including budgeting, operational requirements, and schedules
* Present papers to the senior management team
* Identify risks and support mitigation strategies
* Support contract mobilizations and demobilizations
* Streamline existing processes
* Develop Power BI reporting tools with assistance from an in-house developer
* Define, calculate, and report KPIs for each service within the division
* Manage relationships with internal and external auditors
* Drive continuous improvement
Desired Skills:
* Management experience
* Commercially astute and business-focused
* Knowledge of Power BI and Power Platform
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office
* Strong attention to detail
* ACCA/CIMA or equivalent qualification (desirable)
* Excellent communication skills across all stakeholder levels
* Understanding of confidentiality and data protection requirements
* Ability to work effectively under pressure
