What you’ll be doing as a SEN Teaching Assistant Supporting pupils in class to help them stay focused and confident Working closely with the class teacher to adapt activities Helping children with their emotional regulation and routines Providing 1:1 or small-group support when needed Creating a positive, encouraging learning environment About you for the role of SEN Teaching Assistant You don’t need years of experience, you just need the right attitude. If you’re patient, upbeat, and enjoy helping children do their best, you’ll fit right in. It helps if you have: Experience supporting children (in school, youth work, tutoring, care, outdoor ed, clubs, etc.) A calm and compassionate approach Good communication skills A genuine passion for supporting young learners Wanting to make a difference If you’ve worked with SEND pupils before, that’s a lovely bonus, but not essential.
