A global organisation with an office based in Wakefield is looking to recruit a Company Secretary Paralegal in a business-critical position to support their EMEA Legal Team. Candidates applying for this position will need to have a clear and demonstrable interest within company secretarial work. Preferred candidates will be those who have worked in a company secretarial capacity before and who can demonstrate previous experience in handling corporate administration or company secretarial management. Simultaneously, the business would also be open to applications from candidates who are already working as paralegals in other practice areas but who are looking to transition into the company secretarial area - but any such applicants will need to evidence a strong interest in this work either through specific company secretarial qualifications or through highlighting strong administration skills such as handling large caseloads and communicating with a wide range of stakeholders. The successful candidate will have responsibility for the corporate compliance of the business and will be tasked with the preparation and filing in a timely manner of corporate secretarial documentation - this will include providing support at shareholder/board meetings on an annual/quarterly basis as and when required. Due to the nature of the work, candidates will need to have either a law degree or a formal Company Secretary qualification given the need to apply principles of corporate / company law across the UK and other jurisdictions. Hybrid working is available with this role with the expectation being that the successful candidate attends the office 2/3 times a week, but the business will be happy to accommodate candidates who might wish to attend the office on a more regular basis.
