Fixed Term Consultant Radiologist with an interest in MSK Imaging

Applications are invited for a fixed term Consultant Radiologist post with a specialist interest in Musculoskeletal Imaging. This role is based at Worthing Hospital but may require rotation across sites. The post requires full GMC registration and specialist registration, or eligibility to obtain within six months of attaining CCT. The candidate should have a thorough grounding in clinical radiology, including ultrasound and cross‑sectional skills, and subspecialty skills in Musculoskeletal imaging including joint injections. They will participate in multidisciplinary meetings with Rheumatology and Trauma & Orthopaedics and be expected to support teaching and educational supervision.
Job responsibilities
* General elective and acute (hot) reporting
* General and subspecialty ultrasound lists
* Sub‑speciality reporting
* Supervision of radiology trainees, extended‑scope radiographers, sonographers and undergraduate students
* Participation in multidisciplinary meetings (MDMs)
* Participation in diagnostic on‑call service
* Teaching and training of radiology trainees and participation in the Radiology Masters program (MSc) at the medical school
* Contribute to clinical research, audit and CPD activities
* Support clinical teaching and educational supervision as required by the Trust
* Work the on‑call rota as agreed, including evening, weekend and overnight commitments
* Part‑time availability may be considered
Person Specification – Experience & Qualifications
* FRCR or its recognised equivalent
* Full and specialist GMC registration, or eligibility to receive within six months of interview
* Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in Radiology or equivalent recognition
* Higher degree, distinctions, scholarships or other postgraduate qualifications (BSc, MSc, MS)
* Broad experience of general acute diagnostic imaging (including trauma CT) and general outpatient imaging
* Good cross‑sectional skills in body and emergency imaging
* Dedicated MSK radiology training and report experience (US and MRI)
* Experience of MSK interventions (image‑guided injections, fluoroscopy, US‑guided IR procedures, drain insertion, biopsies)
* Experience in leading multidisciplinary discussions
* Understanding of NHS clinical governance, resource constraints and managerial skills
* Evidence of commitment to teaching, recognised teaching qualification, and interest in academic activity (audit, research, publications)
* Strong communication skills, both oral and written

Salary
£113,565 to £150,569 per annum (pro‑rata).
