Overview
We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Support Worker to join our friendly team in Wakefield, West Yorkshire. This is a temporary fixed‑term contract for 6 months. The role involves supporting adults with learning disabilities, physical needs and support needs in a supported living setting, providing a safe homely environment and enabling as independent as possible living.
Responsibilities
* Provide excellent, respectful and individualized support to all service users.
* Develop sincere and trusting relationships with service users and encourage them to express their needs, views and concerns.
* Support the management and co‑ordination of service delivery, effectively meeting the needs of the service users.
* Provide mentorship, support and guidance for the staff team, including deploying staff and managing rotas.
* Work flexibly to meet the needs of the service – day, evenings, weekends and bank holidays; participate in an on‑call rota.
Qualifications & Experience
At least one year’s experience in providing care and support for adults with a learning disability, physical needs and support needs, including older people, is essential. A senior support worker should be compassionate, motivated, diligent, empathetic and able to demonstrate good verbal and written communication skills. The role requires working on a rota and undertaking early, late and weekend duties.
