The Position The Physical Security Officer (Research Labs) is responsible for safeguarding a quantitative research business’s most sensitive environment its Research Labs. This is where world-class researchers and engineers in an environment values deep exploration and methodical execution. The role ensures controlled access, policy compliance, incident response, and the secure operation of all physical and environmental controls within the labs. This position is essential to maintaining the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of the quantitative research business’s critical assets. Responsibilities: A minimum 40-hour working week and occasional weekends Day shifts between 6am to 11pm, with regular over time available throughout the week and weekends Acting as first response for all physical security incidents and alerts Monitoring CCTV, alert and threat platforms Monitoring access and egress of the Research Labs and ensuring policy compliance Conducting investigations of security incidents or policy breaches Supporting technical surveillance sweeps (TSCM) Documenting incident Manned guarding duties Requirements: The ideal candidate will have the following skills and experience: A breadth of experience in physical security Team player with a collaborative mindset Current Door Supervisor SIA licence 3 years’ experience in corporate security Experience using Microsoft Office applications Strong problem-solving skills with an ability to assess and prioritise threats Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills, with a detail-oriented mindset Ability to communicate complex and technical issues to non-technical stakeholders Experience working in high-pressure situations and the ability to collaborate with team members to resolve incidents Willingness to continuously learn and keep up to date with new technologies and techniques in physical security Good written and verbal communication skills It is impossible to list every requirement for, or responsibility of, any position.
