Annual salary: up to £29,488.20

About The Role
As a General Operative, you will be working on our SHDF retrofit programme within the social housing background, providing a stable and profitable contract, delivering excellent service and support through our local teams. You will give front‑facing support and advice as required and deliver proactive communication throughout the works life cycle, putting the customer at the heart of everything we do.
* Assist with site preparation and clean‑up of the site office
* Remove waste from site
* Handle and transport materials safely and efficiently
* Support skilled tradespeople in retrofit activities
* Conduct minor repairs and maintenance tasks to support retrofit goals
* Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
* Maintain a high standard of work quality and attention to detail
* Collaborate with team members to ensure project deadlines are met
* Report any issues or concerns to the site supervisor promptly
* Participate in site meetings and provide input on project improvements
* Take initiative and ownership in undertaking allocated tasks and supporting delivery of planned works activities aiming for a first‑time completion whilst remaining within budget and time parameters
* Provide high levels of customer care at all times
* Be responsible for working at heights
Role Criteria
* Experience in the duties listed above
* Full UK driving licence
* Able to handle manual labour – lifting, standing, bending, repetitive tasks
* Knowledge of PAS 2035 domestic retrofit
* Asbestos Awareness
