Position Summary
The Quality Excellence Manager is responsible for driving quality excellence across the Packaging Business Unit. This role leads root cause investigations, manages customer quality claims, and ensures compliance with quality standards across manufacturing sites. Acting as a key liaison between manufacturing, technical, R&D, supply chain, and commercial teams, the role focuses on improving customer satisfaction, reducing opportunity costs, and embedding a culture of continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Customer Quality & Claims Management
*
Own the end-to-end management of customer complaints and claims, ensuring timely resolution and effective communication of corrective and preventive actions.
*
Provide customers with clear, accurate quality data, root cause analyses, and investigation outcomes.
Quality Investigations & Continuous Improvement
*
Lead complex, escalated quality investigations using structured root cause methodologies, including Accelerated Root Cause (ARC) processes.
*
Collaborate with R&D and supply chain teams to standardise test methods and quality control plans across multiple sites.
*
Identify systemic quality issues and implement preventive actions to reduce recurrence.
*
Support R&D and technical teams with insight into formulation reviews, ensuring potential risks are identified and mitigated early.
Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement

Partner with Plant Quality Managers to deliver regional quality plans and share best practices across sites.
*
Support new product introductions, formulation changes, and scale-up activities to ensure quality requirements are met.
*
Participate in and support customer audits and internal audits, ensuring compliance with ISO 9001 and internal quality standards.
Data Integrity & Reporting
*
Maintain accurate quality metrics, dashboards, and reporting systems for the Packaging Business Unit.

Analyse quality data to identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities, providing actionable insights to stakeholders.
Strategic Quality Initiatives
*
Lead and contribute to divisional and global quality improvement projects across multiple manufacturing locations.
*
Champion continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean and Six Sigma to enhance quality performance and operational efficiency.
Skills & Experience
Essential
*
Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
*
Minimum of 10 years’ experience in Quality, Operations, or Technical roles.
*
Strong expertise in root cause analysis, ISO standards, and customer-facing quality resolution.
*
Proven ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
*
Strong data analysis and problem-solving skills.
Desirable
*
Experience within the coatings, paint, or packaging industry.
*
Six Sigma Green Belt certification or equivalent continuous improvement qualification
