Job Description:
Are you looking to develop and progress your career? Are you an individual with a growth mindset and enthusiasm for physiotherapy? Are you interested in personal and professional development, specialising in orthopaedic and musculoskeletal advanced practice and rehabilitation? If so, we would like to speak to you.
We are keen to attract a forward-thinking and innovative Advanced Practice Physiotherapist to our Musculoskeletal (MSK) Physiotherapy and Orthopaedic Services. A passion for the science and practice of managing and rehabilitating musculoskeletal conditions is essential.
Your clinical remit will include supporting the development of the Orthopaedic Advanced Practice (AP) Service, working alongside a dedicated Lead AP in orthopaedics. You will collaborate with the Physiotherapy Leadership Team to enhance orthopaedic and musculoskeletal outpatient rehabilitation within the wider MSK Physiotherapy Service. Your role will involve facilitating early and preventative patient care, providing both individual and group rehabilitation for patients with orthopaedic and musculoskeletal conditions, and participating in advanced outpatient clinics (e.g., spine, shoulders, knees). You will work closely with colleagues in Orthopaedics, Minor Injuries Unit, and Emergency Department to ensure an integrated approach to MSK patient management. There are ongoing opportunities for service and quality improvement through this system-wide, person-centred approach.
You will have a mentor or supervisor, and a career plan will be developed collaboratively, exploring opportunities across the four pillars of physiotherapy practice. As an Advanced Practice Physiotherapist, you will also contribute to the Allied Health Professions (AHPs) Research, Innovation, and Knowledge Strategy.
NHS Fife promotes a culture of excellence across physiotherapy, ensuring best possible person-centred care for the people of Fife. The musculoskeletal physiotherapy roles are well-established, with collaborative working across the MSK Physiotherapy and Orthopaedic Outpatient Services.
Fife offers a unique living and working environment, within easy commute from the East of Scotland region, including Lothian, Perth, and Tayside. The role will be based at times at the new National Treatment Centre – Fife Orthopaedics, opened in 2023. Flexible working arrangements are available and can be discussed.
If you are interested in exploring this opportunity, we would be pleased to meet or speak with you informally.
NHS Fife is committed to equality, diversity, and inclusion. We welcome applications from all sections of society and support flexible, family-friendly working policies, including reasonable adjustments for disabled candidates, those with long-term conditions, or neurodivergent individuals.
