We are looking for a Business Intelligence Engineer III to develop new models to drive improvements in S&OP accuracy, automation, and plan optimality - partnering with teams across SCOT.
Responsibilities
* Develop analytical solutions to business problems that utilize the highest standards of analytical rigor and data integrity
* Recognize and adopt best practices in reporting and analysis: data integrity, test design, analysis, validation, and documentation
* Write high quality code to retrieve and analyze data
* Analyze and solve business problems at their root, stepping back to understand the broader context
* Design pragmatic analyses and automated metrics that add value to your business area
* Understand data resources and how, when, and what to use (and what not to use)
* Develop analyses (whether fully formed or exploratory) for the business sake, not for analyses sake
* Seek to understand the business objectives relevant to your area, and align your work to those objectives and seek to deliver business value
* Proactively and continually improve your level of knowledge about Amazons business and relevant data resources
Qualifications
* Experience programming to extract, transform and clean large (multi‑TB) data sets
* Experience with the theory and practice of design of experiments and statistical analysis of results
* Experience with AWS technologies
* Experience in scripting for automation (e.g. Python) and advanced SQL skills
* Experience with theory and practice of information retrieval, data science, machine learning and data mining
* Experience working directly with business stakeholders to translate between data and business needs
* Experience with SQL, data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools
* Experience in the data/BI space and in data warehouse technical architectures, data modeling, infrastructure components, ETL/ELT and reporting/analytic tools and environments, data structures and hands‑on SQL coding
* Experience with advanced Excel, MySQL
* Experience prioritizing and handling multiple assignments while maintaining commitment to deadlines, in a fast‑paced, high‑tech environment
* Experience completing complex tasks quickly with little to no guidance and reacting with appropriate urgency to situations that require a quick turnaround
* Experience in ownership of projects, communicating timelines and executing independently
* Experience communicating and presenting to senior leadership
* Experience creating reports, interpreting metrics and driving overall insights or analysis
* Experience managing, analyzing and communicating results to senior leadership
* Knowledge of industry analytics visualization tools such as Excel, Tableau, AWS QuickSight, MicroStrategy, PowerBI, and statistical methods such as t‑test or Chi‑squared
* Experience in project/program management, supply chain, and/or inventory management
