Job overview

We are looking for experienced registered mental health CNWL colleagues, ideally Mental Health Nurse(s) and/or Family & Systemic Psychotherapist(s)!

We have arare opportunity to join our friendly and highly skilled award-winning CAMHS home treatment team.

We offer a range of assessment and treatment interventions in the community to adolescents who would otherwise be admitted to an inpatient general adolescent unit (GAU).

The primary role is to provide direct clinical assessment, treatment and care coordination to clients and their families. We do not have any waiting lists for what we offer and are resourced to ensure that caseloads are sustainable.

ACTS covers a large patch geographically: Brent, Harrow, Hillingdon, Kensington & Chelsea and Westminster. The work is fast-paced and challenging and the team is highly skilled, cohesive and keen to support each other. We offer excellent supervision and ongoing training opportunities and the team is warm and inclusive.

Main duties of the job

We are seeking enthusiastic and confident registered clinicians with a demonstrable track record of working within the NHS, ideally within CAMHS, who can provide high quality evidence-based assessments and interventions.

We have two roles available and these are suitable for a Mental Health Nurse and / or Systemic Family Psychotherapist with the requisite professional registration.

The team is based at the Monks Park Health Centre in Wembley.

Your role will involve developing and delivering a wide range of interventions, projects and system changes with the aim of supporting children and young people with mental health issues or emotional disorders. In addition to providing comprehensive consultations, assessment, risk management and interventions for children and young people experiencing emotional and mental health difficulties, the post-holder will also clinically supervise students/colleagues. Detailed job description and main responsibilities

1. To provide timely assessment and treatment for young people with serious mental health needs that present in crisis and may present a significant risk to themselves and /or others.
2. To ensure effective management of high risk cases in the community to prevent psychiatric in-patient admissions wherever possible and appropriate.
3. To work closely with inpatient colleagues to facilitate a timely discharge from inpatient provision to ensure that the length of admission is kept to a minimum.
4. To assess the needs and risk of young people referred into the service and make decisions regarding the suitability for intensive community treatment or inpatient admission, liaising with colleagues as necessary.
5. To create suitable care plans and safety plans to ensure young people receive appropriate treatment in the community.
6. To liaise closely with colleagues to ensure effective transition between services.
7. To promote the safeguarding and welfare of young people.
8. To facilitate and support the step and step down process of clinical intervention, ensuring that young people are at the heart of decisions concerning their care and movement between levels of intervention.
9. To have a strong commitment to patient participation and ensure that this is central to all practice within the scope of their work.
